Unit 2. Scratch Surprise

CAN YOU MAKE THE SCRATCH CAT DO SOMETHING SURPRISING?

In this activity, you will create a new project with Scratch and explore different Scratch blocks to make the cat do something surprising! 

First watch this video!

  1. Go to the Scratch website: http://scratch.mit.edu
  2. Sign into your account.
  3. Click on the “Create” tab located at the top left of the browser to start a new project. 
  4. Time to explore! Try clicking on different parts of the Scratch interface to see what happens.
  5. Drag and drop Scratch blocks into the scripting area. Experiment by clicking on each block to see what they do or try snapping blocks together.

Wrap up: Share your project!

  1. Click Share button on the top of the page.
  2. Click on +add to studio button at the bottom of the page
  3. Choose summer code camp 2019.
  4. Click okay

Wrap-up: Show your project

  1. click on your account name at the top right of the page.
  2. Select My Class
  3. Click on Class Studios – summer code camp 2019
  4. Check out your friends’ projects!
